Where do I purchase my SLE ticket?
Do I need to go into the station to buy a ticket for a connecting New Haven Line train?

One-way tickets are sold on board trains and are available at the New London, Old Saybrook and New Haven ticket windows and are valid for 90 days. Please have correct fare with you — checks and credit cards are not accepted for ticket purchase on board trains.

SLE commuters continuing on past New Haven may purchase their New Haven Line ticket on board the New Haven Line train. (Just tell the conductor you're connecting from a Shore Line East train, show your receipt and the surcharge will be waived).

What types of tickets are available?
Monthly, monthly plus bus, Uni-Rail (combined SLE/New Haven Line ticket) and ten-trip tickets are available. Ten-trip tickets are valid for 90 days. Monthly and monthly plus bus tickets are valid for the calendar month shown and may be used for unlimited travel between stations specified. The bus portion of the monthly plus bus ticket is honored for travel on all CTTRANSIT bus routes including the Commuter Connection buses.

How can I pay for my ticket?
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted at the New London, Old Saybrook and New Haven ticket offices. Checks and credit cards are recommended for ticket purchases by mail. Cash only is accepted for on-board ticket purchases.

Are there senior or off-peak discounts?
Because the Shore Line East fares are so reasonable, there aren't any discounted fares.

What does it cost to bring children with me?
Children aged 2 through 15 receive a 50% discount when accompanied by one person paying an adult rail fare. Children under age 2 are permitted to travel free.

Are reservations accepted?
Sorry, reservations are not accepted.
